A place to crash for the night. Ask me anything
Was out at a steakhouse tonight. Saw a girl that caught my eye there. She was waiting on her “hubby” to order their food or some bull. I walked up to their booth, slid my plate of appetizers on the table in front of her and said, “Eat now with a boss or later with your loser. Your call.” Girls love an ultimatum. Needless to say, her loser went off and read his menu walking. True story I just made up.
“I like romance sometimes.” The two sat down. “Someone once told me that I wasn’t romantic.”
“Really? What a thing to say. Do you agree with them?” She rested her hand on her head and looked at him in a slight look of concern and interest. The sunlight was divided on her face as it came through the blinds. One strip of light draped across the contours of her face so that her eyes appeared as shining marbles staring at Peter in a focused way that was uncharacteristic of Jamie. She shifted her weight and curled her legs up on the couch.
“I think I could be romantic for the right person. For someone worth being romantic for.” He stared at the blank television a bit in silence.
“I see. Is there anyone in mind right now?
“Anyone in mind?”
“Yeah, who you could be romantic for.” Jamie rubbed the back of her neck slowly with her right hand.
“I really don’t think so. I’m kind of just occupied with so much right now. Maybe I’ll be able to be romantic when I’m more settled down.”
“Maybe you’ll acknowledge all the girls who are dying for you to sweep them off their feet right? Ugh, Pete! You make it sound like you can plan romance and love. It isn’t like that at all. It is definitely random. You just need to be open to it and someone will catch your eye. I know they will.”
“I see where you’re coming from, but it just isn’t priority right now. I’m not saying it will never happen. I’m just not too into the idea of dating someone so we can just go to the mall together, or go to the same restaurants all the time and have half-involved conversations between her texts.”
“You’re being negative about it, Peter.” She got serious and called him Peter. He knew this was something she was passionate about at that point. Taking note of her shift in attitude, he offered up more of an explanation.
“I mean…I do have someone in mind, but…”
“But what?”
“But I just don’t know if I’m ready, okay? I haven’t had the best of luck when it comes to relationships recently. I… ”
“Pete, say no more. I’m not trying to interrogate you.” Jamie stood up on the hardwood floor slowly and outstretched her arms over her head which lifted up her shirt slightly, exposing an inch of her abdomen. A tiny line of discoloration caught Pete’s eye. “We all have scars.”
“Some are fresher than others.”
I’m hiding over on this tumblr blog because I don’t want the followers following me around on my other blog or twitter reading this. I want attention for my art, but I don’t want people looking at me behind the curtain. I am an extremely private person outside of the internet. I don’t like intrusive people. I don’t like personal questions. I’d rather be left alone. I have done this to myself though. Glad I have this space to breathe.

You are the owner of my waking thoughts
Your hands are reaching for miles
This heart is yours to hold within them,
But all things decay
I am lost in your movements
My eyes follow every bending joint
And each of your muscles gestures,
But all bodies grow weak
We are shifting like seasons
Our confusion breeds chaos
The barricades ascend higher,
But all walls may crumble

"Write from the heart, right from the heart."
Smile
Lines (erased)
Outside of the garden
We sought refuge from eyes
A shaded place to celebrate
A new place washed in blue
With peeking moonlight above
Inside that place
We shared our warmth
The clouds of breath appeared
We plotted a new way to care
In the ongoing silence
Outside of myself
I watched you submerge
In the depths you discovered
The happiness you had built
With your own will upon me
Inside the cold shadow
Your eyes grew large
As you kept your creation
Warm and feverishly sustained
By all means in your nature
Outside of the warmth
I felt nagging hesitation
As you invited me again
Smiling upon my state
Gripping that fading bliss
Inside your selflessness
I shook with awe
I collapsed at the gesture
Of giving without demand
As I stayed strong for you
Outside wind picked up
You outlined my need
And listened carefully
The pace hastened for us
Like rushing red blood
Inside the blue
Premature shyness ended
Prime depths were reached
In our private celebrations
You tasted bitter sweetness
Take all of this in
Clouds of breath
Built with your hands
Eyes grew large
Take it all out
Rushing red blood
Consume this piece of us

In the midnight land
I dream a silly dream
With eyes open for you;
Unblinking and passive.
Drenched in shadows,
My thoughts weave splendidly
Like delicate spiders working
To construct their tapestry.
Drinking moonlight, I feel you
Within my room stirring close.
I catch your form in swift glances,
But you evaporate too soon.
Caressing a cold void to my right,
I turn to my left confidently.
Again, you take form within
My lungs as I breathe you in.
Briefly, I live in the dream.
You and I are weightless.
Our feet hang above
Mounds of ashes below.
Abruptly, I awake
From the midnight land
Where we meet
And true certainty remains.
